Señor Lucky Blues Band

Señor Lucky has played in and around the New York area, including being one of the first bands to play at the outdoor music festival at Chelsea Piers, as well as at Chicago Blues and a host of other local venues. Listening to these guys will remind you why it's still a great thing to hear live music performed by seasoned musicians who have a deep love for the Blues and whose energy is contagious and inspiring.

Paul Handelman

Irene Kolseus

Growing up in New York's Greenwich Village and coming of age during the late 1960s and ‘70s, Paul Handelman had the good fortune to be exposed to a wide range of diverse types of music. "One favorite spot of mine was the Cafe Au'go go on Bleeker Street where I saw some of the most amazing and legendary Blues musicians of our time like Mississippi John Hurt, Big Joe Williams, John Mayall and the Blues Breakers, John Hammond, James Cotton, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band and, of course, B.B. King, who was a regular there. It was a small, intimate space where you really got an up close and personal experience of the music and souls of the artists". Down the street was the famous Village Gate where Paul used to see the great Mose Allison (an early and important influence) as well as many other great jazz musicians.

About 10 years ago Mr. Handelman, along with founding members Scott Hamilton and Drew DiCamillo, formed their own band and Señor Lucky was born. They pay homage to the music and legendary musicians who have enriched their own lives. While remaining true to the original beauty and integrity of the Blues – that truly indigenous American art form - they have created their own, unique urban-jump Blues voice.

Scott Hamilton

Scott Hamilton has been the original drummer for Señor Lucky having co-founded the group in 1994 with guitarist/vocalist Paul Handelman. He has played in a number of NYC blues bands, including Mohair Sam, Blue Wolf and as the original drummer for Kid Java. Scott has played at some of the top NYC Blues venues – Dan Lynch’s, Chicago Blues, Mondo Cane, Mondo Perso, Manny’s Car Wash and the Savoy Lounge. His influences include Al Jackson, Roger Hawkins, Jim Keltner, Elvin Jones, and Art Blakey.

Kent Miller

Kent Miller on harmonica and vocals has been a mainstay of the New York and New Jersey blues scene for more than 20 years. In addition to leading his own band and playing with some of the area's best musicians, he has performed with a number of the blues world's legendary artists, from sitting in with Muddy Waters, to backing Howlin' Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumilin, to taking the stage at New Orleans' Jazzfest with blues/r&b greats Carol Fran and Clarence Hollimon. Kent takes his swinging approach on the harmonica not only from recognized blues masters such as Little Walter and Junior Wells but from jazz saxophonists including Gene Ammons and Illinois Jacquet. Kent brings an energy and passion to performances that captures the spirit of the music and captivates audiences.
